Jaffa Cake Gin is is distilled with oranges, fresh orange peel, cocoa powder and actual Jaffa Cakes! – the Jaffa Cakes are put into the vacuum still to give really the gin that true distinctive flavour.
Jaffa Cake Gin Flavour Profile
On the nose you’re hit with zingy, marmalade-esque orange notes followed by a deep, rich chocolate undertone. There are hints of vanilla and almond with a solid backbone of juniper.
On the palate, you guessed it….Jaffa Cakes. The resemblance is quite surprising however the flavour is nicely balanced and delicately sweet, not overwhelming or sickly in any way.
On the finish the palate fades into smooth hot cocoa with a note of lingering bitter dark chocolate and a tang from the juniper that confirms it is still a gin.
Jaffa Cake Gin makes a perfect base for Negroni cocktails but also works well in a G&T, garnished of course with a Jaffa Cake in replacement of a standard citrus wheel.
