10 Delicious Christmas Gin Cocktails 2021

Are you getting excited for the Christmas festivities to begin? Well, if like us you can’t wait, we’ve got some fantastic Christmas Gin Cocktail recipes to share with you that are sure to get you feeling jolly and in the mood for some festive fun!

When Christmas comes around, it can be easy to get swept away by all the planning and preparations for the season, so we thought we would make it a little easier by putting together a fantastic selection of Christmas Cocktails (featuring our favourite spirit of course) in preparation for the upcoming weeks of festivities.

These delicious, Christmas inspired cocktails are guaranteed to bring you some festive vibes – from warming toddies and refreshing fruity serves to a Spiced Apple Pie Cocktail and a Winter Spiced Eggnog. You may even find one that will become your staple Christmas Gin Cocktail for years to come.

1. Plymouth Gin St.Clements Brunch Cocktail

Plymouth Gin Cocktail

This delicious brunch style Cocktail is perfect for a festive laid back brunch or aperitif but also works well for late night celebrations and works as a beautifully versatile gin cocktail. Easy to prepare, it’s a perfect option for Christmas morning / brunch or even as a refreshing drink alongside dinner.

The cocktail features orange and lemon juice, gin, and Lillet Blanc. Plymouth Gin offers a lovely aromatic flavour with a touch of ‘zest’, making it a perfect match for the a brunch style cocktail. Topped up with Mumms Champagne, this delightful cocktail is quick to make and will go down a treat with guests.

Ingredients

35ml Plymouth Gin
35ml Lillet Blanc
1 tsp Lemon juice
50ml Fresh Orange Juice
5ml Rich Syrup
Top with Mumms Champagne
2x Raspberries (garnish)

Method

Shake with ice, strain into chilled flute. Garnish with Raspberries.

Wessex Spiced Apple Pie Cocktail

Looking for a festive or Autumnal cocktail to bring out at winter dinner parties or cosy date nights?

Wessex Distillery’s spiced apple pie cocktail contains just the right amount of sweetness with a spiced kick from the gin and cinnamon to warm you up, perfect for those candlelit colder evenings or, if you’re an apple pie lover, for enjoying all year round.

This simple recipe contains enough for one drink, however, you can easily double or triple the ingredients if you plan to make drinks for a group. This warming spiced apple pie cocktail is perfect for entertaining as you are likely to already have a few of the ingredients in your cupboards.

Ingredients

50ml Wessex Alfred the Great Premium Gin
40ml Apple juice
40ml Ginger beer
15ml Lemon juice
1 tsp Cinnamon sugar (and some for garnish)
Apple slice

You will also need:

Cocktail shaker
Strainer
Ice
Cocktail glass

Method

For some extra spice and to impress your guests, put some extra cinnamon sugar into a shallow bowl, run a lemon wedge over the rim of your glass and dip the glass into the mixture for decorated edges. This step isn’t essential but definitely won’t go amiss if you’re trying to impress family and friends.

Add all your measured ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake the cocktail shaker hard and fine strain the liquid into a chilled cocktail glass once smooth. Garnish your cocktail with an apple slice sprinkled with cinnamon.

3. Monkey 47 Sloe Gin – Mulled Sloe Gin and Apple

Monkey 47 Sloe Gin

A Mulled Sloe Gin is one of our favourite hot cocktails to enjoy on a cold winter’s night, and a delicious alternative to the more traditional mulled wine. Full of warming spices and fruity flavours it is the perfect winter warmer for the holiday season.

Our choice of gin for this cocktail is Monkey 47 Sloe Gin – adding a delicious tangy flavour to the serve along with some gorgeous sweet red berry notes.

Ingredients

50ml Monkey 47 Sloe Gin
150ml Apple juice
50-100ml Freshly squeezed orange juice, to taste
1 tsp Cranberry jelly (optional)
Cinnamon stick
Additional festive spices of your choice: such as cloves, star anise or cardamom pods
Orange slices and/or fresh cranberries (to garnish)

Method

Add the juices, jelly and spices to a pan. Heat it gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jelly has dissolved. Remove from the heat, then strain into your drinking glass. Top up with sloe gin and garnish with a slice of orange and/or a couple of fresh cranberries. For extra flavour, you could also add a fresh star anise or cinnamon stick.

4. Silent Pool Orange Festive Cocktail

Silent Pool

If you’re a fan of fruity cocktails, this Orange Festive cocktail will be right up your street. Full of delicious sweet citrus flavour, it makes a lovely Christmas tipple that can be enjoyed throughout the festive celebrations.

Silent Pool Gin blends beautifully with the orange or clementine juice, offering a smooth texture to the drink. The flavour is bold and fresh with delightful floral notes, which works perfectly in this serve.

Ingredients

50ml Silent Pool Gin
25ml Campari
2 tbsp Fresh Orange or Clementine Juice
Bottlegreen sparkling pomegranate and elderflower pressé
1 Orange slice (to garnish)

Method

Pour the gin into a chilled cocktail glass. Stir in the orange or clementine juice, then top with the sparking pomegranate and elderflower. Garnish with a slice of orange.

You could even sprinkle on some fresh pomegranate seeds to make it more festive!

5. Wildjac Winter Spiced Negroni

Prep time: 5 minutes (plus infusing for at least 4 hrs)
Cook time: 15 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes

Wildjac Gin Cocktail

This Winter Spiced Negroni is a seasonal twist on the classic Negroni, featuring warming spices and lovely festive aromas.

We’ve chosen Wildjac Gin for this serve, providing a nice balance of juniper, spice, and citrus to complement the festive flavours. If you’re a Negroni lover, this cocktail is the perfect one for you to try!

Ingredients

2 Cinnamon sticks
2 Star anise
5 Whole cloves
250ml Wildjac
250ml Campari
250ml Martini Rosso Sweet Vermouth
8 Orange slices (for garnish)
Vegetable oil for brushing

Method

In a small frying pan, add cinnamon sticks, star anise and whole cloves – toast until fragrant. Empty the spices into a large jug, then add gin, Campari and Vermouth and leave to infuse for at least 4hrs (up to 24hrs).

To serve: Brush orange slices with vegetable oil. Then, using a non-stick frying pan, fry orange slices over a medium-high heat until lightly charred on both sides. Fill 8 short glasses with ice and add the orange slices. Then strain in the spiced negroni mixture and serve.

6. HOT MULLED SLOE GIN (made with Sipsmith Sloe Gin)

A hot toddy is a must at Christmas, and this delightful serve made with Sipsmith Sloe Gin is one of our favourites. A mulled sloe gin is becoming ever more popular nowadays, as an alternative to the more traditional mulled wine (dating way back to the 2nd century) and is the perfect winter warmer to sip in front of a crackling fire.

Sipsmith Sloe Gin: This lovely smooth gin is created with a base of their award-winning London Dry Gin, which is left to rest on ripe sloe berries, harvested in the autumn months. The result is a fruity gin with notes of delicious winter fruits and sweet cherry, balanced beautifully with hints of warm spice and piney juniper.

Hot Mulled Sloe Gin Recipe

Ingredients

• 250 ml Cloudy Apple Juice
• 50 ml Sipsmith Sloe Gin
• Assorted Spices (such as cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves & cardamon pods)
• Vanilla Pod (cut down the middle)
• A Cinnamon Stick (to garnish)
• Half an Orange Slice (to garnish)

Method

• Add assorted spices and vanilla to a pan
• Top with cloudy apple juice
• Simmer for around 5-10 minutes, until just before boiling
• Ladle into a mug, teacup, or Irish coffee mug and add sloe gin
• Garnish with a half orange slice and/or a cinnamon stick

7. Sir Edmond Winter Spiced Vanilla Eggnog

Prep time: 25 minutes
Refrigerator time: 1 hr
Total time: 1 hr 25 minutes

Sir Edmond Winter Spiced Egg Nog

To celebrate Christmas, this gorgeous eggnog recipe utilises the vanilla pod essence from Sir Edmond gin with the vanilla pods used within the recipe.

Sir Edmond gin is infused with vanilla, cardamom, Angelica and ginger – making it the perfect candidate for this indulgent Christmas serve.

Ingredients

5 Eggs, separated
2/3 cup (130g) Granulated sugar
1 Vanilla bean pod, split and seeds removed
3 cups (700ml) Whole milk
1 cup (240ml) Heavy or double cream
50ml Sir Edmond Gin
175ml Spiced Dead Man’s Fingers Rum
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg, plus more for garnish

Method

First, you need to separate the eggs, putting the yolks in one bowl and the whites in another bowl. Cover the egg whites and place them in the refrigerator until ready to use. Then, add the sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until blended and creamy. Split the vanilla bean
lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a teaspoon. Add the seeds to the egg yolk mixture and stir in.

Next, we mix in the milk, cream, gin, rum, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then cover the mixture and chill it in the fridge for at least one hour. Just before you are ready to serve, you need to whip up the egg whites using an electric mixer or stand mixer. Beat until stiff peaks start to form (for 5-10 minutes). Take out the eggnog mixture from the fridge and gently whisk in the egg whites. Serve straightaway, garnishing each glass with some freshly grated nutmeg.

8. Hendrick’s Hot Gin Old Fashioned

Prep time: 5 minutes or less

Hendricks Cocktail

Another hot cocktail which we absolutely love at this time of the year is a Hot Toddy, and this recipe for a Hot Gin Old Fashioned hits the spot perfectly!

It only requires four ingredients and is very easy to make. Hendrick’s gin provides a characterful flavour to this serve, along with a subtle freshness and hints of delicate florals.

Ingredients

50ml Hendrick’s Gin
10ml Sugar syrup
2 dashes of Orange bitters
50ml Boiling water
Twist of orange (to garnish)

Method

Gently heat the first 3 ingredients in a pan. Then add 50ml of boiling water. Serve in a tankard or teacup and garnish with an orange twist.

9. Portobello Road Sloeberry & Blackcurrant Gin – The Sandringham

Prep time: 3 minutes
Serving size: Serves 1

Portobello Road Sloeberry Gin

The Sandringham cocktail is a take on a Sloeberry Negroni, featuring Dubonnet in place of sweet vermouth and the drier Gammeldansk in place of Campari.
Barrel Aged Portobello Road Sloeberry & Blackcurrant Gin serves as a gorgeous base providing a good hit of gin, layered with sweet stone fruit notes and a touch of woody flavour from the whiskey barrels.

Ingredients

30ml Portobello Road Sloeberry & Blackcurrant Gin
30ml Dubonnet
15ml Gammeldansk
Slice of lemon (to garnish)

Method

Build over ice in a mixing jar, then strain into a rocks glass with one large ice block. Garnish with a fresh slice of lemon.

10. Warner’s Christmas Cake Gin – Hot Chocolate

Warners Christmas Cake Gin – Hot Chocolate

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a traditional hot chocolate! So how about one with gin?

This sweet, rich and warming recipe for a boozy Hot Chocolate features Warner’s Christmas Cake Gin – offering a delicious combination of dark chocolate, treacle and festive spices. Very easy to make, it’s a real Christmas treat that can be enjoyed throughout the holiday season.

Ingredients

50ml Warner’s Christmas Cake Gin
3 tsp Dark chocolate powder
200ml Hot water
Double cream
Grated dark chocolate (to garnish)

Method

Boil the kettle. Add the hot water, gin and chocolate powder to your mug – stir it well so that it’s fully combined. Then, carefully layer double cream on top, pouring it gently over the back of a teaspoon. Grate some dark chocolate over the top to garnish.
